12 Details No One Noticed On “Friends”

Some of us never get bored of watching our favorite TV series over and over again. Still, even the biggest fan may have missed a couple of small details about the show “Friends”.

12. The famous couch was always unoccupied for a reason.

Have you ever wondered why the gang’s favorite spot — the legendary orange sofa — was always available for them? Look closely, and you’ll notice that it’s been reserved! You can see the sign in a couple of early episodes. The sign is missing in some episodes, but there’s no need to leave the “Reserved” sign for regulars, right?

11. Monica introduced Rachel to Chandler in the pilot episode as if they’ve never met before.

In the pilot, after leaving Barry at the altar, Rachel comes to the coffee house where Monica introduces her to Joey, Phoebe, and Chandler. But a couple of episodes later in “The One With the Flashback,” we’ll find out that Rachel and Chandler know each other from college and Thanksgiving dinners at the Gellers.

10. Monica has a jar for yelling at her restaurant.

Monica has always been very demanding. However, she was also trying to deal with her problem: at Alessandro’s she had a special jar in which she had to put a dollar every time she yelled at somebody. Apparently, she did yell. A lot.

9. A magical kitchen window.

Everybody saw a window in Monica’s apartment, but few of us noticed that the scene outside this magical kitchen window was constantly changing. A brick wall, a nearby building… We did like the apartment, but there was something really weird going on with this particular window.

8. Interesting notes appear on the board on Joey and Chandler’s apartment door.

Throughout the series, the Magna Doodle Board on Joey and Chandler’s apartment door carried a lot of funny messages. For example, when Chandler and Monica confessed they were dating, a cute drawing of a heart with their initials appeared on the board (aww, how sweet of you, Joe!). Chandler also used to leave messages for Joey to call back some girl, his agent, or his dad.

7. They once changed the names of the entire cast in the credits.

On the first episode of season 6, they added “Arquette” to the end of everyone’s names in the credits to congratulate the happy couple, David and Courteney, who changed her name to Courteney Cox Arquette.

6. Ross has two birthdays.

While others were getting older, Ross didn’t age for three entire seasons. He mentioned he was 29 at least in seasons 3, 4, and 5. Plus, according to Dr. Geller, he was born in December. A couple of years later, he claimed that his birthday was October 18th. We believe it must be the power of Unagi.

5. Friends almost never laugh at Chandler’s jokes.

Everybody loves Chandler’s jokes and sarcastic comments. Well, except for his closest friends. The only logical explanation we could think of is that the director didn’t want to ruin the flow of the scene by stopping for laughs. Yeah, not fair, Chandler, but we know you’re “the funny one.”

4. A nurse at the hospital and Joey’s agent were played by the same actress.

Do you remember Joey’s agent, Estelle Leonard? Few recognized her when she played the role of a nurse in the episode in which Ross’s son, Ben, was born.

3. The unusual camera angle.

In “The One With the Secret Closet,“ they showed us the ”4th wall” of Monica’s apartment while Chandler was attempting to open the secret closet. It was a unique opportunity to see the angle used by the camera crew to shoot the majority of scenes.

2. All the wedding dresses.

Remember the episode in which Monica picks up Emily’s wedding dress and ends up trying it on with her girlfriends who, by the way, also put on wedding gowns? We don’t know why, but Emily wears a completely different dress during her wedding. Rachel’s dress also went through some changes since she left her fiancé at the altar in season 1.

1. Courteney Cox was pregnant when the last episode was shot.

When Lisa Kudrow got pregnant, screenwriters decided to incorporate her pregnancy into the Friendsscript. Voilà! Phoebe got pregnant too! But it was much more difficult when Courteney Cox announced her pregnancy. According to the plot, Chandler and Monica can’t have children and they adopt twins. Although Courteney was wearing baggy clothes all the time, we still can notice her growing belly in some episodes.

Bonus: Friends Bloopers Special

When you are missing your favorite characters and you have seen every episode 100 times, turn to the special episode of Conan that the talk show host Conan O’Brien did with the whole cast of Friends. It has all the best bloopers and inside jokes from the 10 years of the show’s run.

12 Unplanned Movie Mistakes That Only Made Them Better

12 moments when the shooting went off course, but it only made the movies more interesting.

12. Guardians of the Galaxy — the sphere scene

According to the director, Chris Pratt dropped the sphere with the Stone of Infinity not because it was planned but because he was just clumsy. He dropped the sphere, but he stayed in character. That’s why this mistake looks like it was originally in the script.

11. Avengers — the blueberries

Robert Downey Jr. got into his character so well that he “gave” him his own habits, including having snacks all the time. The scene with him offering blueberries to Hulk and Captain America was just an improvisation.

10. The Princess Diaries — the fall

This moment was not originally planned, but the sudden falling of Anne Hathaway was so appropriate to the clumsy princess Mia’s behavior that it was decided to leave this scene in the movie.

9. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring — knife throwing

This scene could have ended tragically if it was not for a lightspeed reaction of Viggo Mortensen. A knife that was aggressively thrown by the orc actor slipped and was heading directly for Viggo’s face. He managed to strike it aside with a sword so that it just broke into splinters. It seems like Viggo’s weapon training was not in vain, and the movie acquired one more dramatic moment.

8. Midnight Cowboy — the taxi

Dustin Hoffman literally projected himself into his character, the rascal Ratso. When Hoffman was unexpectedly almost hit by a taxi during the shooting, he started shouting at the driver, “I’m walking here! Get out of here!”

7. Casino Royale — the beach scene

This remarkable moment appeared in the movie by accident. Daniel Craig fell into the water, but the shooting was not stopped. Instead of another hot chick in a bikini, the audience saw Agent 007 in swim briefs. You must admit that it is more than just a decent substitution. By the way, those briefs were sold at auction for $72,000.

6. The Dark Knight — the hospital explosion

A technical glitch appeared during the shooting, and a series of explosions stopped unexpectedly. The reaction of Heath Ledger is a remarkable improvisation that saved the scene, as it was supposed to be shot from the first take because of the high cost of the pyrotechnic effects.

5. American Sniper — the scene with a baby

The baby that was supposed to act in this scene suddenly had a fever, and that’s why Bradley Cooper had to handle a plastic doll. The actor tried to act plausibly, but if you look more attentively, you can see him touching the fake baby’s hand to make it move.

4. Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark — the fight

Initially, it was planned to shoot a long fight scene with the bad guy in black, but that day Harrison Ford didn’t feel well. Steven Spielberg didn’t want to interrupt the shooting schedule and invited Ford to just shoot the enemy, which he did.

3. Django Unchained — the dining room scene

Leonardo DiCaprio was so much into his acting that he didn’t notice he’d cut his hand. Quentin Tarantino decided not to stop the shooting, and that’s why the scene appeared to be so fascinating. Well, it’s just more evidence that Leo deserved his Oscar, even if he got it for a different movie.

2. The Usual Suspects — the police office scene

A collective bout of laughter in this scene was not initially planned. The reason for this reaction was that Benicio Del Toro broke wind several times during shooting. This explains why Gabriel Byrnecovered his nose with his hand.

1. Captain America: The First Avenger — the touch

Hayley Atwell confessed that the moment when she touched Captain’s America chest was not initially planned. In fact, she was so fascinated with Chris Evans’s perfect body that she just couldn’t resist the temptation. It was not very polite from her side, but the director loved that gesture and decided to leave it in the movie.

12 Images Showing How Introverts and Extroverts See the World

We all knows that extroverts and introverts see the world somewhat differently. Here are illustrations  which will make you think just how different we can be.

To extroverts and introverts, parties are completely different events.

A conversation with a stranger can be a challenge to an introvert, whereas an extrovert takes up any opportunity to socialize.

This is true of conversations both face-to-face and over the telephone.

Meeting a chatty person in the elevator is a great start to the day for an extrovert. But an introvert dreams of riding it alone.

A large office space is like heaven to an extrovert, but it’s like being in a zoo for an introvert.

Both have their own strengths at work.

They understand leadership differently.

Home for an introvert is the best place on Earth. If you’re an extrovert, it’s just a place to catch your breath.

After an entire day of socializing, an extrovert is still full of energy. An introvert doesn’t feel the same.

Which is why they see the subway trip home somewhat differently.

The same is true of their ideal evening after a hard day.
